Stout Funeral Home Owner Jeff Stout Passes Away at 55

Inside INdiana Business is reporting the owner of Cone Palace in Kokomo has died. Jeffrey Stout was also the owner of Stout Funeral Homes & Crematory as well as a Howard County councilman up for re-election this year. He was 55.

Stout was the longest-serving coroner in Howard County history, a post he held from 1991 through December 2000. He remained with the Coroner’s Office as a deputy coroner until his passing.

Stout was a member of Crossroads Community Church, Russiaville Fire and Ambulance Department, Russiaville Masonic Lodge, F & Am 82, and served as president for Russiaville Lions Club. He also served the Board of Directors for First Farmers Bank.

Stout was a member of the Indiana Coroners Association since 1994, where he also had previously served as president.

A celebration of life was held for Stout earlier today.

Cone Palace released the following statement on its Facebook page:

“Our prayers go out to the Stout family. Jeff was a very loving and caring boss for all of us at Cone Palace. During his 1 year of ownership he took the time to get to know all of his new employees and would always invite everyone to his events outside of work. Jeff made sure that we continued to offer the same customer service that we are built around and continued to support the community in any way that we could help. Jeff will be greatly missed at Cone Palace and we will continue his legacy!”
