“Sun Meals To-Go” Program to Provide Free Summer Meals for Children in Frankfort

Families in the Frankfort area will once again have access to free summer meals for children through the “Sun Meals To-Go” program beginning June 1.

The program is available to anyone 18 years old and younger and is designed to help ensure children continue receiving nutritious meals during the summer months when school is not in session.

According to program information, sign-ups are required before meals can be picked up. Meal distribution will take place Monday through Friday from 11:30 a.m. to noon, with Friday pickups including meals for the weekend.

The first meal pickup day is scheduled for June 1, and the final pickup day will be July 31.

Pickup locations include:

  • Suncrest Elementary School — Door 1 by the front office
  • Frankfort Middle School — Loading dock area

Organizers noted that if children are enrolled at a school other than Frankfort, they must be present during meal pickup. Cooking instructions will also be available at pickup locations.

The “Sun Meals To-Go” program is intended to support local families by providing convenient access to free meals throughout the summer break.
