Suncrest Teacher Explores The Science Of Reading

Suncrest Elementary School has announced that a local teacher has completed additional professional development opportunities to further serve the students at the school.

Suncrest Kindergarten Teacher Kelli Klyczek was recognized for completing the Indiana Department of Education Science of Reading course, which requires over 40 hours of watching and participating in professional development programming intended to expand her knowledge of the science of reading. The school noted that the increased knowledge that Klyczek has obtained through the course will allow her to help students “SOAR to new heights.”

“We appreciate all that she has done outside of the school day,” the school released. “Congrats. Thank you for your hard work to support our Eagles.”

According to the school, Klyczek’s completion of the course has also allowed her to receive a $1,200 stipend from the state.
