Susan Jeanette (Morris) Milner

Susan Jeanette Milner, 95, Tipton, formerly of Sedalia, passed away Wednesday, December 6, 2023, at her residence.  She was born January 20, 1928, in Forest to Alvin and Veda (Hillis) Morris.  She married Billy Milner on April 26, 1945.  He preceded her in death on May 27, 2008.

Susan was a 1967 graduate of Rossville High School.   She worked as the Postmaster in Sedalia for 30 years until her retirement on June 28, 1986.  She was a member of Rossville United Methodist Church and National League of Postmasters.  She enjoyed painting, going to the lake house and rocking in her chair and swing.  She loved watching the clouds and birds and being out in nature with her husband fishing.   She was a spitfire, full of energy, full of fun.  Her family was her passion, and she could be found at any sporting event cheering on her family or watching them play online or listening to them on the radio.  No matter what her family needed, it was “No problem” for her to do.

Susan is survived by her children, Gene (Carolyn) Milner and Jane (Phil) Waddell; grandchildren, Chris (Cheri) Milner, Laura (Chris) Elsbrock, Monica (Jay) Rich, and Matt (Kari) Waddell; and great grandchildren, Parker (Virginia) Milner, Kenzie (Henry) Johnson, Mara (Daniel Romero) Milner, Zachary Elsbrock, Connor (Mackenzie) Rich, Courtney Rich, Taylor Waddell, Brian Waddell, Emily Waddell, Jack Helms and Grace Helms.

Along with her husband of 63 years, Susan was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Marshall Morris, Margaret Vandeventer, Bettie Dickey, and Norma Grant.

Visitation will be Sunday, December 10, 2023, from 1pm until the time of the service at 3pm at Day & Genda Funeral Home ~ Bodine Chapel in Rossville.  Pastor Bob Raschka will officiate with burial to follow at Geetingsville Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be made to Rossville United Methodist Church.  Messages of condolence may be left at www.dayandgenda.com.

A special note of thanks to the caregivers and nurses of Heart and Soul Caring and Elara Caring Hospice for their love, compassion, and care for Susan.  You treated her like family and became part of the family.  You are all greatly appreciated.
