Susan Marie (Richardson) Steeb was called home to Our Lord on December 14, 2023. She was born December 31, 1950, in Indianapolis, Indiana to Harry and Ruth (Pfleger) Richardson – her Dad’s little tax deduction. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Frankfort, IN. She graduated from Chartrand High School in 1969 and attended IUPUI.
She married Kenneth J. Steeb on May 13, 1972, at St. Roch Catholic Church. She and Ken were married 51 years and had 2 children. Sue enjoyed camping and fishing at Turkey Run State Park and vacationing at Ormond Beach in Florida. She was a talented seamstress and, along with her husband, an avid antique collector.
She was very active at Rossville High School where her husband was principal. She chaperoned dances, proms, and events too numerous to mention. She loved being around young people and had a smile for everyone she met. She was employed as a bank manager in Delphi Indiana and later at JoAnn Fabrics when she moved back to Indianapolis.
The best word to describe Sue is “sweet”. Sweet Sue. She was very caring and comforting to those who were going through difficult times. She’d laugh with you and she’d cry with you. She will be forever missed by all who knew her.
Sue is survived by her husband of 51 years, Ken; son, Scott (Becci) Steeb; daughter, Amanda (Christian) Medlock; and a granddaughter Adalyn Medlock; brothers, Bill (Karla) Richardson, Hank (Cindy) Richardson, and Jim Richardson; sisters, Patty (Dick) Eck and Mary Jo (Steve) Fox; and many nieces and nephews.
There will be no visitation. A Mass celebrating Sue’s life will be held at 11 a.m. on December 27, 2023, at St. Roch Catholic Church 3600 S Pennsylvania St, Indianapolis, IN 46227. Messages of condolence to the family are welcomed at www.dayandgenda.com.
