Suspect Taken Into Custody after Two Hour Standoff

At approximately 6 p.m. Friday, members of the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, Indiana State Police Lafayette Post, US Marshal’s and Indiana State Police Central Emergency Response Team arrested Devin Ewoldt, 33 of Bunker Hill, on three active warrants out of Boone and Montgomery Counties.

Trooper David Millburg advised that at approximately 4 p.m. officers arrived at 4299 West 700 South in Montgomery County to attempt to place Ewoldt into custody when he ran into the house and would not exit the residence.  Contact by phone was attempted but at first was not successful.  After approximately two hours, Ewoldt came out of the residence and surrendered to officers on scene.  He was placed under arrest and was read the warrants and transported to the Montgomery County Jail.  The two warrants out of Montgomery County were for Habitual Traffic Violator and Possession of Methamphetamines.  The warrant out of Boone County was for Armed Robbery and Intimidation with a Weapon.

No further will be released.  Information about the warrants should be directed to the Boone County and Montgomery County Sheriff’s Departments.
