Sweetener Supply Expanding to White County

Inside INdiana Business is reporting that Illinois-based Sweetener Supply Corp. has announced plans to establish operations in White County. The company, which manufactures food ingredients such as sugars, corn sweeteners and honey, says it will invest $20 million to construct a 150,000-square-foot building in the Mid-America Commerce Park.

Sweetener Supply says it expects to begin construction on the facility by July 2021 and begin production in the first quarter of 2022. The facility will employ about 30 people during the first year of operation.

The company cites lower taxes, ease of working with county government, and the Mid-America Commerce Park’s proximity to I-65 as the primary reason for locating the facility in White County.

The facility will sit on 15 acres of land in the business park in Wolcott. The company says it is receiving incentives from the county, state and other sources for the project.
