Tax Assistance Beginning at Frankfort Neighborhood Center

Beginning March 1, tax assistance will be available from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Thursdays and continuing through April 12 at the Frankfort Neighborhood Center, 259 S Third Street in Frankfort.  No appointment is needed. Wesley Manor will continue to provide tax assistance on Wednesdays by appointments.

The AARP Tax Aide program is offering free assistance for low to moderate income and elderly. Most returns are electronically filed. All volunteers assisting with taxes must pass a test to be certified preparers.

Clients should bring a picture ID for each taxpayer, and a social security card or information verifying the social security number for each person on your tax return. Also, bring wage earnings (W-2’s), interest statements, pension statements, last year’s tax return, property tax statement, records of rent paid during the year and any other information on expenses and income. Any information to verify Health Insurance Coverage should also be brought. Those who purchased health insurance through the Marketplace must bring their form 1095A.
