Teresa “Terrie” Sue (Norton) Bushman

Teresa “Terrie” Sue (Norton) Bushman, age 68, of Lafayette, passed away peacefully at 7:42 a.m. on September 2, 2024 at IU Health Arnett Hospital. She was born March 14th, 1956 in Lebanon, Indiana to Coleman and Mary Lou Norton. She attended both Colfax and Jefferson Elementary Schools, before graduating from Clinton Prairie High School in 1974. After graduation, Terrie began her retail career at the newly opened Tippecanoe Mall. Being a sought after employee, she became the assistant manager of several stores, including Blocks and Paul Harris. Being immersed in the world of retail provided Terrie the opportunity of being offered a modeling contract by a fashion designer out of Chicago. Given her close relationship with her family, she turned down this opportunity, but still participated in many fashion shows at the mall, and was pictured in many fashion magazines from the stores she worked at. She moved to Indianapolis where she became the assistant manager of The Bottom Half at Castleton Square, and also a secretary at Park 100. Terrie also worked as a CNA at Witham Hospital, and in the dental office of Dr. Travis Osborne in Lebanon. She then worked for Federal Mogul in Frankfort for roughly 8 years.

Terrie never met a stranger, and often talked of her good childhood friends from Colfax. Though initially resistant to life in the country, she came to enjoy what it had to offer. Being an animal lover, Terrie enjoyed watching baby piglets being born from the loft, and going out to her grandparents to see the new puppies and calves. Terrie and her sister Debbie were extremely close all of their lives and were never more than two counties apart from one another. Terrie took great pride in her only son, Drew, and never missed an opportunity to boast about his accomplishments. She enjoyed attending his soccer games and spending time reading together. Terrie had a love for fashion, listening to country music, and planning holiday events. Spending time with family was extremely important to her.

Surviving Terrie are: her son, Drew Bushman (wife Amanda), of Lafayette, and sister, Debbie Seward of Clarks Hill. She was preceded in death by her parents, an infant brother, and several aunts and uncles.

Terrie was a kind heart, and a loving soul. She had an incredible sense of humor, and a contagious laugh. She will be missed greatly, but her presence remains with us forever.

Burial of cremated remains will take place at 11 a.m. Saturday, September 7, 2024 in Plainview Cemetery, Colfax.  Archer-Weston Funeral & Cremation Center and Clinton County Crematory, 501 East Clinton Street, Frankfort, are honored to assist the Bushman family.  Please visit archerweston.com, where you may share a message with the family.
