The Blue Wave Begins: 89th Indiana FFA State Convention June 18-21 At Purdue. Shine 99 and WILO Will Report On-Site.

The Campus of Purdue University turns to a sea of blue as The Indiana FFA Association, whose membership is over 12,500 strong, attend a 3 day Convention full of leadership workshops, banquets and a trade show.  Prior to the convention’s kick off members compete in the State Career Development Events, (CDE’s), such as public speaking, demonstrations and judging events as individuals and teams.

Shine 99 and WILO will broadcast reports and interviews by Kaspar Media Ag Reporter Melissa Miller.

Members also submit Supervised Agricultural Experience Applications, (SAE’s), in various areas of the agricultural industry to be judge. The top four winners in each category then go through an interview process to determine their placing. All winners are recognized during the General Sessions throughout convention.

4 members will be honored as Stars over Indiana in Agribusiness, Agriscience, Farmer and Placement.

Hundreds of members across Indiana who have met the requirements will receive The Hoosier FFA Degree, the highest degree a member can achieve at the state level.

During convention members will also participate in FFA Fun Night sponsored and hosted by Ivy Tech Community College. Community service projects will also be a part of the convention as members will make blankets for Hoosiers in need, along with participating in Canstruction building projects out of donated non-perishable food products, all of which will be donated to Hoosiers in need.

The current serving officer team will retire from office and a new officer team will be inducted into a year of service representing the members of the association at the close of convention.
