The Frankfort Community Public Library (FCPL) is offering a virtual genealogy program titled “Scottish Immigration to America” on Saturday, July 19 at 10 a.m. In this presentation, Scott Norrick will cover the primary waves of Scottish immigration to America as well as the push and pull factors that led many Scots to seek a new home across the Atlantic. He will also discuss Scottish migration within the United States along with the history of Scots-Irish immigrants and their influence on the Midwest. In addition, Norrick will share research tips for those exploring their Scottish ancestry.
Norrick is Ancestral Past’s lead genealogist and has over 30 years of experience in family history research. He has presented at the Association of Professional Genealogists’ annual conference and has been a featured guest on the radio show/podcast “Extreme Genes.” Having traced and documented thousands of people in the United States and Northern Europe, Norrick is skilled in using both new and time-tested genealogical tools and resources.
