The 32nd Annual TPA Park Festival of Lights will continue spreading Christmas cheer as The Kitchen at TPA opens to bring back the warmth of Christmas goodies as visitors admire the displays and the Santa House, and community members may still experience a full Christmas atmosphere with the aid of Christmas music on WILO 96.9 FM, 1570 AM and Boone 102.7 FM.
The Kitchen at TPA will serve soup and hot chocolate every night from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. during the Festival of Lights. Community members are encouraged to volunteer their time as well by serving or making a dish and can sign up by contacting Danyelle at 765-242-7370.
The Festival of Lights kicked off on Nov. 28 and will run every night through Jan. 3 for the Christmas season. Santa Claus will be visiting the park on Mondays and Wednesdays throughout the season with a special appearance Christmas Eve from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
The Parks Department stated that as the Festival of Lights continues, attendees are reminded to prioritize safety and exercise caution in the park as cords will be in the grass and on the pavement and the park will be transformed into a one-way route. Vehicles must enter the park from Kyger Street onto North Park Drive and exit off of Bob Sanders Drive. Vehicles are instructed to obey the speed limit to avoid any accidents throughout the park and be aware of surroundings.
