The Delphi Police Department received a donation from The Learning Tree – A Unique Learning Academy to continue their service of providing comforting items to children in the Delphi community who are involved with police investigations.

The Delphi Police Department issued a statement of gratitude toward The Learning Tree summer camp for donating blankets and stuffed animals to the Delphi Police Department as the department continues to enact its mission of providing children placed within police investigations and police proceedings a comforting item. The Learning Tree also reportedly made the department Police Officer Survival Kits.

The department also thanked community leaders and officers for their efforts in thanking the children of The Learning Tree summer camp.

“Shout out to City of Delphi Mayor Yates for dropping what he was doing on short notice to join us,” the department released. “Thanks also to Officer Wilson, Officer McLeland and Officer Reef for showing up and showing the kids your cars.”

The department initially requested donations of blankets and stuffed animals for the cause in early June where they received over 50 blankets and over 180 stuffed animals from the American Probation and Parole Association Leadership Institute, which has now been supplemented by the donations received from The Learning Tree.
