The Sweet History of Glover’s Ice Cream

The Frankfort Community Public Library is delighted to feature Glover’s Ice Cream as part of our Hoosier Storytellers program on Thursday, August 14 at 6 p.m. Celebrating their 100th anniversary of serving sweet treats in north central Indiana, Glover’s will share their early beginnings as well as how the current team is revitalizing this gem. This program will be held in the Library’s Skanta Theatre and is free and open to the public. Registration is not required.

Steve and Kathy Glover, previous owners and third generation to run the ice cream factory, will join us along with some members of the “Glover’s Five” who currently own the business. The story begins with Foster Glover, who sold ice cream sandwiches on the passenger train coming into Frankfort and continues today with five friends—Tony Del Real, David Meek, Shan Sheridan, and brothers Juan and Tony Reyes—who feel honored to be part of this next chapter.
Hoosier Storytellers is an ongoing series, where host Michael Clossin interviews guests of local interest as they discuss their unique experiences. The presentations usually last one hour, followed by questions from the audience. This interview will broadcast live on YouTube and be archived on the Library website: myfcpl.org/online/podcasts/hoosier_storytellers.
