Third Coronavirus Case is Student from Avon Elementary School

Multiple media outlets are reporting that Indiana could have its third case of coronavirus following a statement Sunday by the Hendricks County Health Department that a student at Hickory Elementary School in Avon has tested positive for the virus.

If that test is confirmed, the child would be the third person in Indiana to be confirmed sick. In addition, the county is ordering Hickory Elementary School closed for two weeks. One of Indiana’s two confirmed coronavirus cases is also in Hendricks County.

The Avon Community School Corporation announced the closure of Hickory Elementary School for two weeks — Monday, March 9 through Friday, March 20. The district added they received the test result late Sunday evening and they have decided to have an e-Learning day on Monday, March 9, for the entire school district.
