Thomas Joe Miller, 84, of Kokomo, died at 6:24 p.m. on December 8, 2021 at North Woods Village after a brief battle with lung cancer. He was born on August 24, 1937 in Frankfort, Ind. to Charles Elwin “Ted” and Mary Marguerite (Davenport) Miller. Tom attended Frankfort High School before enlisting to serve in the United States Navy in 1954, where he was honorably discharged in 1962.
His marriage was to Mary L. Kemmerer in June of 1959. They divorced and he married Marguerite Leicht. She preceded him in death in 2000.
Tom spent his winters in Inverness, Florida. He worked as a member of the International Laborers of North America. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge as well as the Eagles Lodge. Tom was a member of Abundant Life Church in Kokomo. He was a big sports fan, particularly following IU Basketball.
Tom is survived by Wilma Lawman, his dear companion of the past 17 years; three children: Ronald E. of Lafayette, Randall E. of Oshkosh, WI, and Regena E. (Bob) Gourley of Russiaville; four grandchildren: Keith E. (Brachla) Miller of Fort Lee, VA, Kasey T. Miller of Lafayette, John B.(Kacie Rene) Lynch of Fowler, and Haley M. Miller of Clarks Hill; 10 great-grandchildren: Theodore, Oliver, and Arthur Miller, Kaylee Miller, Benson, Harlow, and Maverick Lynch, Gattlin Flick, Denton and Bernice Miller, and his niece Patty Miller. Preceding him in death are his parents, a brother: Jimmie D. Miller, and 2 nephews: Jimmie D. Miller, Jr. and Eddie Miller.
