Francis Thomas “Tom” Clark, 92, of Frankfort passed away peacefully July 23, 2026 at Wesley Manor Senior Living Community in Frankfort, Indiana. He was born August 29, 1933 in Frankfort, IN to Francis W. “Franny” and Mary Rebecca (Jones) Clark. He was formerly married to Mona Louise “Micky” Hoyer and Marilyn L. Stoffregen, and they preceded him in death. He married Sharon Young in 2014 and she survives.
Tom was a local farmer for 47 years and owned and operated Deer Path Farms LLC, a tree farm selling lumber and Christmas trees. He loved taking his grandchildren for rides through the woods, pointing out all the different types of trees—maples, oaks, tulip, ash, elm, walnut, and various pines. Tom believed the Deer Path was the most beautiful spot in Clinton County. Tom was one of thirteen graduates in the 1951 graduating class of Jackson Township school. He attended Purdue University from 1951-1955 where he was a proud Sigma Chi Member and past President and was active in the ROTC. In 1955 he graduated from Purdue with a B.S. in Agriculture Economics. After completing his degree at Purdue, Tom went on to honorably serve his country in the Navy as a Chief Engineering Officer, LTJG, on the USS Paricutin AE-18 in the Pacific Theatre including ports of call in Hong Kong, Korea, the Philippines and Japan. Tom also served in the Naval Reserves. Back Stateside, Tom was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church in Lafayette, IN as well as served on the Board of Trustees at St. Matthew United Methodist Church in Frankfort, IN. He also served on the Board of Tippecanoe Planed Parenthood. He was active in his children’s and grandchildren’s activities, attending musical and sporting events. He even attended a Jazz Band and swim meet during a long weekend in Philadelphia. Tom loved to travel. He had a world map with pins showing the places he visited, his favorite places, and the ones he wanted to visit. He traveled to Europe, the Caribbean, and throughout the US and Canada. He also traveled to see his children and stepchildren that lived out-of-state.
Surviving are: his son: James “Jim” T. (Judy) Clark of Frankfort, his daughter: Anne L. Clark of Chicago, IL, his stepsons: Andrew (Debbie) Stoffregen of Fishers, and Paul (Susie) Stoffregen of California, his brother: Russell “Pete” Clark of Frankfort, and thirteen grandchildren: Sam (Megan) Clark, Kristen (Brent) Ruder, Katye Tuyo, Abigail (Dexter) Horlacher, William Byrne, Sarah (Hayden) Byrne, Misty (Matt) Motzko, John (Ingrid) Stoffregen, Jennifer (Todd) Grubbs, Daniel (Lauren) Stoffregen, Lauren Stoffregen, Eric (Virginia) Stoffregen, and Lindsay (Courteney) Stoffregen. Also surviving are 12 great grandchildren and many extended family members through his marriage to Sharon.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife: Marilyn Clark, sister-in-law: Jane Clark, stepson: Kenneth Stoffregen, step daughter-in-law: Carolyn Stoffregen, and grandsons-in-law: Kyle Horlacher and Steven Tuyo.
Family and friends may visit from 1-3 p.m. Saturday, August 1, 2026 at the Amanda Reid Wesley Manor Chapel, 1555 N. Main St, Frankfort IN.
