Thomas “Tom” Russell Edgar, 74, of Kokomo, IN, passed away on February 16, 2025 at Community Howard Regional Hospital, Kokomo. He was born April 18, 1950 in Frankfort, IN to the late George T. Edgar & Delores (Cox) Lindaur. He married Tanya Baumgardner on November 26, 2014 and she survives.
Tom was a 1968 graduate of Frankfort High School and attended ITT. He was a police officer for the City of Frankfort, worked for Manford Steward Farms, Johnson Brothers in Fort Wayne, Emerson and retired from former Delphi (Borg Warner). He had previously worked at Goodwin Funeral Home from 1968-1973. Tom was an avid deer hunter, and enjoyed motorcycles and corvettes.
Tom is survived by his wife, Tanya Baumgardner, of Kokomo, other wife (sister-in-law) Angie Atwell, nurse, Morgan Atwell, nephews, Drew Ferguson, Jim Chittick, niece, Rana Edgar, sisters, Judy Carden, of Clinton Township, Carolyn Edgar, of Savannah, GA, honorary brother, Rick (Janie) Gunter, cousin, Bobby Milton, special grandson, Jacob Kingma, granddaughters, Lynn Richards, Brandie Carmer, daughters, Wendy Ferguson of Lafayette, Rachelle Edgar of Frankfort, son, Ryan Edgar of Frankfort, several grandchildren, great grandchildren and canine companion, Gunner.
He is preceded in death by his parents, nephews John Chittick and Nikki Atwell along with canine companion, Bubba.
Visitation will be 2-4 p.m. Saturday, February 22, 2025 at Goodwin Funeral Home, 200 S. Main St. Frankfort. Funeral services will begin at 4 p.m. at the funeral home. A graveside service will be held in Bunnell Cemetery at 3:30 p.m. Friday, March 7, 2025. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Unchained Souls K9 Rescue.
