The Thorntown Public Library announced that it raised nearly $400 through its euchre night that saw two local men take home trophies for their outstanding performance and unlucky falls in the event.
The library announced that Alec Smith took home a trophy during the event for scoring the highest amount of points throughout the evening, but Tracy Henderson instead received a “lil’ stinker” trophy for receiving the lowest points of the night.
The library celebrated the two award recipients and all who participated, and the $384 raised through the event will be utilized to continue the outstanding work of the Youth Summer Reading Program.
The next euchre night event is scheduled for Feb. 22 and will benefit New Beginnings Food Pantry.
The library released that through the euchre nights, the participants have raised over $8,000 to support local charities since the program began in March 2022.
