The Thorntown Public Library has announced its Youth Winter Reading program that kicked off Dec. 16 that allows community youth to read and receive a prize alongside Chance, the Thorntown Library Cat.

“Chance is preparing for the winter weather by snuggling up with a good book and signing up for our Youth Winter Reading Challenge,” the library released.

The challenge extends for only three more weeks to Jan. 25. Community members may sign up for the challenge before the deadline and receive a bookmark log to log their reading hours between the time frame. Participants who read six hours receive a raffle ticket for a grand prize and receive a free book. Those who receive six more hours get another raffle ticket.

Participants must visit the library before Jan. 25 with their completed hours to receive their raffle ticket and free book.
