Three Juveniles Identified in Connection With Park Vandalism

Frankfort Police have identified three juveniles responsible for damaging the TPA Park water fountain globe lights reported on October 15 and 25.

On October 15, parks department employees reported damage to the stone railing near the large shelter house and three broken water fountain globe lights. Ten days later, parks employees noticed a fourth globe light had been broken.

After reviewing tips from the community and working diligently with City of Frankfort Parks Department employees and Parks Superintendent Travis Sheets, detectives were able to identify three suspects and escalate their investigation.

According to Chief Troy Bacon, “Identifying those responsible for breaking the globe light bulbs on the historic TPA Park water fountain is a clear example of the community, parks employees and police working together to identify and hold responsible those who damaged park department property”.

“As I’ve stated in the past, I am proud of the work our patrol officers and detectives do each and every day to solve crimes, reduce crime and bring to justice those who vandalize our community. If you commit a crime in Frankfort, chances are good that we will find you”.

Each juvenile has been referred to juvenile probation with pending charges of Criminal Mischief.

Cost to repair the globe light bulbs is estimated at approximately $1000.
