The Carroll County Economic Development Corporation has announced that another Boone County business will be the recipient of the Boone County 180 Makeover Award to aid in the start-up of the company.
Kyle and Renee Schnoor were recently selected for the award for their ownership of a promising start-up business in the Town of Advance named Rolling Dough Pizza Company. The award is presented in partnership with the Town of Advance and the Boone County Economic Development Corporation as a prestigious award facilitated through the 180 Alliance for READI 1.0 funding. The award is intended to invigorate local businesses for community growth across Boone County, and the 180 Makeover program is offered for businesses spanning across Boone, Hendricks, Johnson, Montgomery, Morgan and Putnam counties.
The program has allowed for partners to allocated nearly $1.2 million of funding to Boone County for vital community improvements, and through the Boone County Economic Development Corporation, the initiative granted $25,000 to the Town of Advance to support the renovation endeavors for the Rolling Dough Pizza Company start-up. The renovation efforts include upgrades to the century-old building that the start-up will occupy, which include new windows, doors, insulation and flooring.
Boone County Economic Development Corporation CEO Molly Whitehead expressed her pride in the program and the corporation’s ability to offer funding for Boone County businesses to thrive as they look toward improving their established storefront or starting a business in a historical building.
“We are thrilled to collaborate with our local municipalities through the 180 Makeover program in Boone County,” Whitehead said. “Our downtown areas represent the heartbeat of our community, and we aim to create new spaces where small businesses and entrepreneurs can thrive and envision their success.”
The Town of Advance initiated the bidding process for the project, which are set to conclude by 12 p.m. on Friday, May 10, and vendor selection for the project is set to be deliberated by the council during the following meeting on May 13. Once approved, the vendor will be permitted to begin the renovations promptly after the decision. Advance Town Council President Jim Caldwell commented about the benefits that the renovations and introduction of Rolling Dough Pizza Company will have on the community of Advance.
“On behalf of the Town of Advance, we congratulate Rolling Dough Pizza Company on receiving this grant, and we look forward to their opening later this year,” Caldwell said. “Advance is open for business and we look forward to welcoming other small businesses and entrepreneurs to our community in the future.”
Schnoor, who is noted as the visionary behind Rolling Dough Pizza Company, expressed his excitement for the opportunity to renovate the space and begin the success of the start-up without the requirement of additional investments by the owners.
“Receiving this grant to fix up our building in Advance is exciting,” Schnoor said. “Owning my business has been a lifelong dream. I am thrilled to be a part of the Advance community, and I can’t wait to offer additional dining options to those who live in the area.”
Upon completion of the renovation project, Rolling Dough Pizza Company will be set to open its doors this winter to provide a welcoming space for residents of Advance and visitors of Boone County.
