The Town of Colfax has announced that under a new contract with Waste Management, customers can set out one free bulk item on the first Wednesday of each month.
Acceptable Items:
- Basketball hoops
- Bathtubs
- Bed frames
- Box springs
- Cabinets
- Cardboard
- Carpet and Padding
- Children’s toys
- Exercise equipment
- Grills
- Hot tubs
- Indoor furniture
- Lawn mowers
- Mattresses
- Miscellaneous household items
- Outdoor furniture
- Paint cans and containers
- Pallets
- Pianos
- Pool liners or panels
- Refrigerators
- Shower enclosures
- Small appliances
- Storm doors
- Swing sets
- Toilets

Unacceptable Items:
- Any Freon-based item that has not been properly drained (refrigerators, freezers, air conditioners, etc.)
- Antifreeze
- Automotive parts
- Batteries
- Bricks, dirt, gravel, rocks, sod and stones
- Concrete and cement, as well as any attached items
- Construction or demolition material
- Hazardous waste
- Manure
- Oil and gas
- Pesticides, insecticides and similar substances
- Propane tanks
- Riding lawn mowers
- Roofing shingles
