Traffic Stop Leads to Drug Arrests in Frankfort

Frankfort Police Officer Andrew Snyder conducted a traffic stop in the area of W. Green Street & Rowe Street for a vehicle registration violation at approximately 7:43 p.m. on Tuesday, April 2. Based upon observed behaviors, Officer Snyder requested the assistance of Frankfort Police Sergeant Evan Hall and K9 Otto. K9 Otto arrived and performed a free-air sniff of the vehicle. During the subsequent probable cause search of the vehicle, illegal narcotics were located.

Arrested were Randy L. Hall (52) of Frankfort for Possession of Methamphetamine over 5 grams, Neglect of a Dependent, Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Synthetic Drug and Possession of Paraphernalia; and Charles M. Smith (29) of Frankfort for Unlawful Possession of a Syringe, Neglect of a Dependent, Possession of Synthetic Drug and Possession of Paraphernalia.

We are committed to investigating individuals who use, traffic, or distribute illegal narcotics in our city. Our officers are relentless in their efforts to disrupt and prevent dangerous criminal activity and are dedicated to providing a safe and secure environment for the citizens of Frankfort.”

Hall and Smith were transported to the Clinton County Jail where they will await formal charges by the Clinton County Prosecutor’s Office. The Department of Child Services was contacted regarding an infant in the vehicle.
