Traffic Stop Nets Drugs and Felony Arrest

At 11:01 a.m. Friday, trooper David Millburg was patrolling I-74 EB near the 15mile marker with his K9 partner Colt. Millburg observed a dark color Chevrolet Trailblazer fail to signal a lane change and initiated a traffic stop on the exit ramp to US41. While speaking with the driver Millburg observed signs of criminal activity, and asked the driver to exit his vehicle. The driver was identified as Jeffrey A. Causley, 27 of Veedersburg. Trooper Douglas Feazel arrived on scene to assist while Millburg and Colt conducted a free air sniff of the vehicle. Colt had a positive alert on the vehicle.

Millburg then spoke with Causley and Causley fled south toward a trailer park north of Veedersburg. The suspect was given multiple commands to stop and as he continued to flee, Feazel deployed his Taser with no effect on the suspect. The suspect continued over a fence, through the trailer park, and into a wooded area. Millburg continued to give commands for the suspect to stop. The suspect continued to refuse and Millburg successfully deployed his Taser. The suspect continued resisting and with the help of Feazel, the suspect was taken into custody.

The Veedersburg Town Marshall arrived and took custody of Causley and transported him to Fountain County Med Shed to be medically examined. The suspect was medically cleared for jail and transported to the Fountain County Jail without further incident. Troopers Feazel and Millburg arrived back at the vehicle. During an inventory of the vehicle several bags of suspected Marijuana and paraphernalia associated with dealing.
