Traffic Stop Results in Arrest for Frankfort Woman

On Wednesday, Frankfort Police conducted a traffic stop near the intersection of Morrison St and Rossville Ave that resulted in the arrest of 59-year-old Diane S. Wright of Frankfort for Dealing Methamphetamine and Possession of a Controlled Substance.

According to Deputy Chief Scott Shoemaker, “During the traffic stop, Frankfort Police K9 Bane conducted a free air sniff of the exterior of the vehicle and alerted to the presence of drugs inside. Officers then searched the interior of the vehicle and found the illegal drugs inside”, said Shoemaker.

The traffic stop was a culmination of information obtained by the Frankfort Police Department Narcotics Detectives during multiple investigations over the last few months.

“The investigation conducted by our Narcotics Detectives has started to connect the dots locally and more arrests are forthcoming. We remain committed to searching for illegal drug activity and dealers in our community”, said Shoemaker.

Wright was transported to the Clinton County Jail and preliminarily arrested for Dealing Methamphetamine, Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession of a Syringe and Possession of Paraphernalia. Wright was formally charged by the Clinton County Prosecutor on October 24, on felony drug charges.
