Traffic Stops Leads to Arrests of Three People in Miami County

At approximately 8:03 a.m. Thursday, a traffic stop by Indiana State Police Trooper Steven Glass led to the arrests of Kiersten Taylor.31, Robert Wine, 29, Kristina Oklak, 28, all from Indianapolis.

Glass initiated a traffic stop on a 2006 Buick Lucerne, on U.S 31 near Miami County 400 South, for an unsafe lane movement and exceeding the posted 60 miles per hour speed limit. The Buick was driven by Taylor. While Glass was speaking to Taylor, he allegedly smelled an odor of marijuana emitting from the Buick. Glass also noticed indicators that criminal activity might be afoot. Trooper Jon Cole arrived to assist.

During a subsequent search of the Buick, officers purportedly found marijuana, ecstasy, and two handguns. One of the handguns was reported stolen from Indianapolis.

Oklak and Wine were arrested for theft of a firearm. Taylor was arrested for possession of marijuana, theft of a firearm, and possession of a controlled substance.  All three were incarcerated in the Miami County Jail.
