Two Arrested on Drug Charges at Travel Inn & Suites

In cooperation with the Clinton County Sheriff’s Office, Frankfort Police arrested two men last night at the Travel Inn & Suites at 2050 East Wabash Street for dealing methamphetamine and maintaining a common nuisance.
Frankfort Police arrested Michael Morton (49) of Frankfort on three counts of Dealing Methamphetamine (Level 5 Felony) and Maintaining a Common Nuisance (Level 6 Felony). Also arrested was Matthew Speedling (26) of Frankfort on two counts of Dealing Methamphetamine and Maintaining a Common Nuisance.
According to Police Chief Troy Bacon, the arrests were the result of multiple investigations and controlled drug buys conducted by narcotics detectives.
“I could not be prouder of the work that was put into this investigation by our narcotics detectives. The information gathered during this investigation will provide fruitful intelligence that will enable us to make additional arrests soon,” Bacon said.
Cellular phones, drug paraphernalia and cash were seized as part of the search warrant officers served at the location.
Morton and Speedling were transported to the Clinton County Jail to face formal charges. The investigation is ongoing and no further information will be released at this time.
