The wrestlers, sixth-grader Elon Bolar and fifth-grader Brylin Hipsher, walked proudly through the hallways to be recognized for their dedication and accomplishments at the state level. Upon hearing of the recognitions at the schools, the City of Delphi invited the wrestlers to the city building to be recognized for achieving the Grade School State Wrestling Champion titles.

Both of the students received a certificate of achievement, a letter of recognition and a medal from the Delphi Mayor, Kamron Yates, for their accomplishments at the state level.

For Hipsher, the letter of recognition read:

“I wanted to convey my sincerest congratulations on your recent accomplishment as Indiana Grade School Wrestling State Champion,” wrote Yates. “This achievement is a true reflection of your ongoing hard work, passion and dedication to succeed. Enjoy the moment and let this serve as a steppingstone to your continued success throughout your career. I look forward to watching you grow not only as an athlete, but as a scholar in the classroom as well. Keep up the good work and know the City of Delphi is proud of your accomplishments.”
