Two Juveniles Die in Kokomo Fire Sunday

At approximately 3:38 a.m. Sunday, officers of the Kokomo Police Department and the Kokomo Fire Department responded to the 900 block of North Morrison Street on a report of a residence fully engulfed in flames.  Upon arrival, emergency personnel found a two-story; single family dwelling, engulfed in flames and subjects possibly trapped inside the dwelling.

Two adults and three juveniles managed to escape safely from the dwelling.  Two additional juveniles were found deceased inside the dwelling.  One firefighter was injured at the scene and transported to a local hospital where he was treated and released.  The two adults and three juveniles, who managed to escape safely, were transported to a local hospital where they are being treated.

The cause of the fire is still undetermined.

The case is currently under investigation by the Kokomo Police Department Investigators, the Kokomo Fire Department, and the Howard County Coroner’s Office.
