Two-Vehicle Crash Claims Life of Monrovia Man

Troopers from the Indiana State Police are investigating a two vehicle crash that claimed the life of a Monrovia man Saturday night.

Just after 11:30 last night emergency crews were called to the area of I-465 and I-74 on the city’s west side to investigate a serious crash. Callers told 911 operators a pick-up truck was overturned on the ramp and the driver was critically injured. Upon arrival, first responders located two vehicles. A driver of one of the vehicles was unconscious, despite life saving efforts, 64 year old Charles Ross of Monrovia was pronounced deceased at the scene. The second driver, 45 year old Jeremy Grimes of Indianapolis, was transported to Eskenazi Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

A state police crash reconstructionist was called to the scene, the circumstances and details of the crash are still under investigation. There is no further information to release at this time.
