The Frankfort High School wrestling team went 2-3 at the Western Boone Super Duels on Saturday.
FHS had two wrestlers go undefeated on the day as Elijah Anthony and Josue Bautista both won all five of their matches to improve 6-0 on the season. Juan Campos and Ezekiel VanDeventer both went 4-1.
The Hot Dogs defeated Danville 54-24 and Tri-West 62-9 as well as falling to Southmont 60-18, Crawfordsville 44-32 and North Montgomery 60-20.
On Thursday night, Frankfort defeated Tipton 41-31. Winners for the Hot Dogs were Bautista, Marco Cruz, Seward, James Ostler, Christian Matias, VanDeventer, Anthony and Armando Roa.
Boys’ Basketball
Frankfort fell to 1-3 on the season after a 53-51 loss to Twin Lakes in the seventh place game of the Franciscan Classic Saturday afternoon in Lafayette.
Leading by two at intermission, FHS was outscored 19-10 in the third period to give Twin Lakes a 39-32 lead entering the fourth quarter.
Casey Henry led the Hot Dogs with 25 points, including 7 of 10 shooting beyond the arc.
In the consolation bracket semifinals on Thursday, Frankfort fell to West Lafayette 52-30. The Hot Dogs were limited to just 11 first-half points, including two in the opening quarter.
Frankfort began the tournament with a 70-40 loss to Lafayette Central Catholic Tuesday night. Jayce Moore scored 12 points for the Hot Dogs in the second half.
Girls’ Basketball
Kimee Kingma scored 10 points to lead Frankfort to a 38-27 victory over North Montgomery in the Sagamore Conference opener for FHS on Saturday. The victory improved their record to 3-6.
On Wednesday night, Sheridan outscored Frankfort 20-4 in the third period en route to a 53-39 victory in Sheridan. Rylee Seibert led FHS with 16 points.
The junior varsity fell to North Montgomery 27-26. Ingrid Valdes led Frankfort with eight points.
On Wednesday, the JV picked up their second win of the season with a 30-25 victory over Sheridan. Valdes led the Hot Dogs with eight points.
Swimming
Both the Frankfort High School boys’ and girls’ swimming teams lost to West Lafayette on Thursday. West Lafayette won the boys’ meet 128-46 and the girls’ meet 126-58.
For the boys, Evan Jordan was victorious in the 100-yard freestyle and joined Jeven Chambers, Antoni Lopez Veloz and Tyler Harness to capture the 200-yard freestyle relay. Patciance Dean was the lone winner for the girls as she captured the 50-yard freestyle in 26.86.
On Tuesday night, the boys defeated North Montgomery 79-72 while the girls fell to North Montgomery 112.5 to 67.7.
Jordan was victorious in the 50 and 100-yard freestyle event. He joined with Aizik Niccum, Adam Haynes and Veloz to win the 200 medley relay and also was part of the winning 200 freestyle relay with Joel Sanchez, Veloz and Harness.
Harness won the 500-yard freestyle, Niccum captured the 100-yard backstroke and Haynes won the 100-yard breaststroke.
In the girls’ meet, Dean won the 50 freestyle and 100 breaststroke and Blazia Sallee won the 1-meter diving.
