Monique Howell of the Indiana State Library (ISL) will give a presentation titled “Making the Most of the County Histories” at the Frankfort Community Public Library on June 17 at 5:30 p.m. The County History Collection at ISL contains historical and modern publications detailing the development of Indiana’s counties, cities, and townships. Learn how these materials can be useful for finding biographical sketches of your ancestors and a wealth of localized historical information. Howell will also share additional resources, many of which are accessible from home, for further local history research.
A lifelong Hoosier, Howell is the head librarian of the Indiana Collection at ISL. She has spent most of her career working with this collection.
This Clinton County Genealogical Society meeting is free and open to the public. It will be held in the Library’s lower level meeting room. Registration is not required. For more information, contact Jill Garrison at (765) 654-8746, ext. 1137 or jgarrison@myfcpl.org.
