UPDATE: Repairs on I-70 Ongoing, Goal For Reopening the Interstate Friday

INDOT

The Indiana Department of Transportation announces repairs on the flood damaged section of I-70 westbound are ongoing in Wayne County. The goal is for crews to reopen the interstate at some point on Friday, August 14.

During this time, both lanes of I-70 westbound remain closed near Centerville at mile marker 146. Heavy rains and flooding washed a section of the road away.

Due to other roads reopening, INDOT is adjusting the detour to follow U.S. 27 southbound, U.S. 40 westbound, State Road 1 northbound, and back on I-70 westbound.

As a reminder, if you encounter high water while traveling, do not attempt to continue driving. Always turn around to find an alternate route. Find the latest updates on road closures and conditions from INDOT at 511in.org and report flooded roadways or other concerns at indot4u.com.
