USB Awards Bids for Three Separate Water Projects

The Utility Service Board officially approved their water projects Monday night.

The USB awarded bids for the plant expansion to Crosby Construction for $6,000,063; the tank project to Viking Paint LLC for $984,550 which included an amended bid of $47,300 for painting and the plant rehabilitation to Miller Pipeline for $683,000.

“We’re going to have two water main expansions under one contract, the plant expansion will be under another project and the water tank out by Castle’s Auto Parts will be refurbished,” said USB General Manager Todd Corrie. “We’ll give them the notice to proceed at our next board meeting (Monday, April 5).”

Corrie also announced that there nine poles that were broken or damaged during Monday’s ice, rain, snow and wind event in the county. Those downed polls resulted in some minor outages.
