It looks like Frankfort residents are going to have a new place to pay their utility bills in the future.
“We have a verbal agreement at this point,” said Utility Service Board Chairman Mike Kelley Monday night. “The lawyers and people are working on the specifics of a purchasing agreement in writing. We should be able to finalize it at our next meeting in two weeks (Monday, Oct. 15 at 7 p.m.).”
The new site would be the Regions satellite office building located behind Speedway Gas Station on the east side of town. Kelley said the building will have plenty of parking, drive-up windows and after hours deposits available.
Once the agreement is signed, the move is expected to be completed no later than the first of the year.
