he Utility Service Board voted unanimously to table a proposed insurance policy that is geared towards city employees and their families Monday night.
“It was felt that we’re not going to vote on something we’re not sure about,” said USB Chairman Mike Kelley. “Everyone unanimously felt there were unanswered questions that we needed to have some answers for. There are some things in the contract even if we interpret them the way we interpret them, we felt this is not in the best interest of Frankfort utilities.”
This plan is to give city employees and their families a place to go for healthcare needs. The office, which is next to the new Jimmy John’s on State Road 28 West, will be run by IU Health.
Kelley added this issue will be brought back up at their next meeting on Monday, April 15, at 7 p.m. He added they might be up against a time crunch because the plan is to have the desired facility up and ready to go in July.
