Korean War Veteran Jack Scheid, accompanied by his daughter Sandy Welch, and Korean War Veteran Mo Morrison, accompanied by his daughter Margo Bricker, boarded the 21st Greater Lafayette Honor Flight early yesterday morning, September 11, at the Purdue Airport, together with 3 World War II Veterans, 13 other Korean Veterans including Korean War Veteran Bill Abbott, accompanied by his daughter Laura, and about 84 Vietnam  Veterans, and also medics, Gold Star Mothers Pam Mow and Dana Vann and numerous Volunteers of the Greater Lafayette Honor Flight.

Landing at Reagan Airport, the contingent first toured the World War II Memorial.  The group had the opportunity to pay their respects to the victims of September 11th.  Pictures were then taken of the Word War II Veterans.   The contingent moved on to the Lincoln Memorial, where pictures were taken of the Korean Veterans and also the Vietnam Veterans.
In addition to touring the Lincoln Memorial, the group had the opportunity to tour the Korean War Memorial and then the very moving Vietnam Wall.
At a distance we were able to see the Pentagon, and an American flag marked the spot where it was struck by an airplane on September 11th.
They honored the Air Force Memorial and then the Iwo Jima Marine Memorial.
Arriving at the Arlington National Cemetery, they had the opportunity to watch the Changing of the Guard at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and then the Wreath Laying Ceremony.

Upon boarding the American Airlines jet, we had a “mail call” on the way home, which included notes from family and friends.  We returned to the Purdue Airport, where we were greeted by a large welcoming contingent, including family. How wonderful ! What a moving and memorable Honor Flight which was provided by
