Virginia Sue Houchens, 82, of Frankfort, passed away March 21, 2025 at IU Arnett Hospital in Lafayette. She was born on March 25, 1942 in Frankfort to Eugene Fay and Gladys Mae (Hartrum) Henderson. She married Donuel Lee Houchens on July 21, 1987 in Indianapolis and he preceded her in death on February 11, 2011.
Virginia was a graduate of Colfax High School and earned her Associates Degree in Accounting from Ivy Tech. She was the accountant for Houchens Trucking for nearly 24 years and had worked as a cook at the Frankfort Country Club for 10 years. She was a member of Dugger Gospel in Dugger, Indiana. She was a HAM radio operator and a member of the Mammoth Cave Radio Club in Glasgow, KY. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, sewing, reading and puzzles.
Surviving are her Children: David Moore of Leesburg, VA, Randy Gascho of Kokomo, and Renee Carlson of Frankfort; Step-Daughter: Angela Terranova of Glasgow, KY; Brother: Donald (Dana) Henderson; 10 Grandchildren; 14 Great-Grandchildren; and 1 Great-Great-Grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son: Michael Cartwright, a great-grandchild, and sister: Georgianna Austin.
There will be no services held. Burial will take place at a later date in Glasgow Municipal Cemetery in Glasgow, KY. Goodwin Funeral Home, 200 S.
