Voting Underway in Clinton County for General Election

Clinton County Clerk Rhea Harris has announced that voting started Tuesday and said they had 557 people come in to stop to vote in-person.

Harris also said they have sent out 1,349 applications for absentee ballots by mail.  However, we have only received back 702 mail-in ballots.  We need voters to get those ballots in the mail.

Remember, in-person voting at the Courthouse is currently happening on the first floor.  We have extra workers throughout the day and extra machines so hopefully voters won’t have to wait in line very long. I am waiting on a new printer for one of our epollbook.  As soon as that is delivered, we will introduce a second epollbook into the rotation during the day so we can get that line moving even quicker.

Harris also wants to commend the voters. She knows it has only been a couple of days since we have started voting but, the voters have been kind and positive about the experience.  It has been a pleasure thus far!

So, come in and vote if you can. We don’t have lollipops to give away but we do have free “I Voted” stickers!
