On Thursday afternoon, the investigation of a reported bomb threat at the Wabash County Judicial Center, in Wabash, led to the arrest of Chad Miller, 28, Wabash. Indiana State Police Detective Josh Maller served Miller a Wabash Circuit Court arrest warrant alleging two felony charges for false reporting and intimidation where a threat is to commit a forcible felony. The warrant was served at the Wabash County Jail where Miller was being held on unrelated charges.
On March 11, Detective Maller initiated an investigation after an employee of a local Wabash business allegedly found a note indicating a threat of explosion to the Wabash Judicial Center located at 69 West Hill Street, Wabash. The employee found the reported note, at approximately 5 a.m., near the main entrance of the business. This prompted a callout of the Indiana State Police Explosive Ordinance Disposal Team to search the Wabash Judicial Center. No suspicious devices were located.
Through various investigative techniques, Detective Maller developed enough probable cause to be granted an arrest warrant for Miller. During the course of the investigation, Detective Maller found out that Miller was supposed to appear in court on the morning of the alleged bomb threat. Miller failed to appear, prompting the judge to issue a warrant for his arrest. Miller was arrested for that warrant on March 15.
Today, at approximately 12:55 p.m., Miller was served the arrest warrant related to the bomb threat investigation.
