Wabash Woman Dies in Motorcycle Crash

At approximately 8:45 a.m. Saturday, officers from the Indiana State Police and the Miami County Sheriff’s Department responded to a single vehicle crash on U.S. 24 near Miami County Road 300 East, in which a Wabash woman died.

The preliminary crash investigation by Indiana State Police Trooper Todd Trottier revealed that Eric Lee Kuhn, 34, Warsaw was driving a 2013 Victory motorcycle westbound on U.S. 24 near Miami County Road 300 East. Evidence indicates the rear tire on the motorcycle blew, sending the motorcycle tumbling, ejecting Kuhn and his passenger Taylour Leigh Sparks, 25, Wabash. Neither individual was wearing a helmet.

Sparks was pronounced dead at the scene. Lutheran Medical Helicopter flew Kuhn, from the crash scene, to a Ft. Wayne hospital. His injuries are unknown.

This is an ongoing investigation, but at this time neither the use of alcohol nor narcotics is suspected as having contributed to this crash.
