Warren Corn Huskers 4-H Club Annual Farm Toy Show

On Sunday, May 21, Warren Corn Huskers 4-H Club hosted the 13th annual Farm Toy Show at Clinton Hall, Clinton County Fairgrounds.

The show was open to the public from 9 am to 3 pm, with vendor-setup Saturday evening and Sunday morning. The show draws around 150-200 farm toy fans who visit the vendor booths, purchasing their favorite finds.

According to several vendors, this year’s event was considered a success.
Prior to the farm toy show, 4-H co-leader, Kareena Wells, contacts vendors and creates vendor sheet organizing the location of the vendors who have purchased a table, which costs $15 each.

The building is booked and tables available counted. Local businesses are contacted for donations for the raffle which takes place during the event. Members of the Warren Corn Huskers 4-H Club donate items for the concession stand. They also meet on the Saturday before to pick up the building and set up tables. As vendors come in during their setup time, members point vendors to assigned tables, answer questions, and help carry items for vendors as needed.

During the show, members cook porkburgers and hotdogs, sell food items and tickets, and announce raffle winners. Admission is $2 for adults and free for those 12 and under. The show always offers a farm toy display contest which is open to the public. After the show members offer again to help vendors, put up tables in the building and transfer tables between Clinton Hall and Edwards Jones 4-H Building, and pick up any debris and trash remaining.

This event serves as an opportunity for farm toy enthusiasts and 4-H members to peruse various farm toy vendors that come from several surrounding states to showcase and sell their items. The day provides a great opportunity for those who enjoy farm toys, to interact, while allowing Warren Corn Huskers 4-H Club a fundraising opportunity. All proceeds from this event benefit 4-H programs at the club and county level.
