Wastewater Expansion Project Now Headed for City Council

The next stop for the proposed wastewater expansion project is the Frankfort City Council after the Utility Service Board unanimously passed a resolution for the project Monday night following a lengthy discussion.

The proposed expansion is a $25.6 million project with an increase in wastewater rates and a not to exceed limit of $27 million in bonds. The project would double the capacity that the current facility has to nine million gallons a day.

The city council will consider the measure at its next meeting on Monday, June 11, at 7 p.m., in the council chambers at Old Stoney.
