Wesley “Wes” A. Scott, 86, of Frankfort, passed away Sunday, October 15, 2023, at IU Health Methodist Hospital. He was born January 29, 1937, in Clinton County to Ivory Warren and Leona Marie (Johnson) Scott. He married Constance Moudy in 1955. She preceded him in death in 1993. He then married Shirley (Howsen) Wells, Oct. 28, 1995, and she survives.
Wes was a 1955 graduate of Frankfort High School. He worked as a supervisor for Sun Chemical until his retirement in 1999. He attended Scotland Christian Church and was a member of Eagles Lodge #976, Moose Lodge #7, and the American Legion and VFW Auxiliaries. He was active in all sports, and played fast pitch softball for Roush Trucking, and enjoyed raccoon hunting, fishing, bird watching, and gardening. He loved his family and loved making memories with his wife, children, and grandchildren. Wes enjoyed life and always had a smile on his face and a cheerful attitude.
Along with his wife of 27 years, Wes is survived by his children, Andy (Debbie) Scott and Pamela (Mike) Reeder; stepdaughter, Sandy (Ed Cottrell) Wells; daughter-in-law, Darlene Scott; stepdaughter-in-law, Vicki Wells siblings, Bonnie Wade, Richard (Cathy) Scott, and Marvin (Anna) Scott;; 11 grandchildren; four step grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; 10 step great grandchildren.
Along with his first wife, Wes is preceded in death by his parents; sons, Joe and Greg Scott; stepchildren, Victor Wells; siblings, Velva King, Barbara Eldridge, Robert W. Scott, William “Bill” Scott, Donald Scott, Harold “Spike” Scott, and Roy E. Scott.
Visitation will be held Thursday, October 19, 2023, from 10am until the time of the service at 12pm at Day & Genda Funeral Home in Frankfort. Pastor Steve Coultas will officiate. Burial will follow at Bunnell Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be made in Wes’ honor to the American Cancer Society and American Heart Association.
