Western Boone Superintendent Releases Statement Regarding Threatening Document Made By Student

Western Boone County Community School Corporation Superintendent Rob Ramey released a statement regarding the investigation into a document created by a student threatening violence toward students and staff, stating that the situation remains under investigation and no threat is believed to face those named.

On the evening of Wednesday, Oct. 16, the administration reportedly discovered that a high school student used their school-issued laptop to create a document where they threatened violence against specific students and staff members. An investigation led to the location of the file, and administration members are enacting the appropriate disciplinary actions aligned in accordance with the student handbook, Ramey reported.

The Boone County Sheriff’s Office is also reportedly conducting an investigation.

“At this time, individuals identified in the document have been notified and appropriate measures have been taken to ensure the safety of all students and staff,” Ramey wrote. “Thanks to everyone for continuing to work at keeping Western Boone a safe place for our students.”
