Westfield Council Approves Sites for Hotel Development

Inside INdiana Business is reporting the Westfield City Council has approved a Planned Unit Development district near Grand Park Sports Campus. Hittle at ThirtyOne would cover more than 12 acres and be home to two new hotels.

The hotels would be located on the southwest corner of U.S. 31 and 191st Street. Documents filed with the city show renderings of a Staybridge Suites and La Quinta Inns and Suites that would be located at the site. The district also includes a Public Arts Plaza, in which the city would showcase local artists.

The city says the new hotels would greatly benefit the incoming traffic to Grand Park.

“Currently, Westfield is home to only three hotels, but in the last year was responsible for 72,000 hotel room nights,” Mayor Andy Cook said in a news release. “There were nearly 750,000 visitors in 2017 to Grand Park and we want those visitors to spend their dollars in Westfield.”

An estimated cost for the project was not listed. The city says the next step in the process is a platting and development plan proposal, which will be submitted by the developer.

Last month, city officials celebrated the opening of a $17 million Cambria Hotel in the Westfield Grand Park Village. The hotel features 152 rooms along with 3,800 square feet of meeting space.
