Residents and those working in the Wabash Heartland Region (Benton, Carroll, Cass, Clinton, Fountain, Montgomery, Pulaski, Tippecanoe, Warren and White Counties) are reminded to complete the Wabash Heartland Innovation Network (WHIN)’s regional placemaking survey to help determine top priorities in their respective counties.
Available until 5:00 p.m. Monday, September 3, the survey contains 27 questions divided into four sections: community vitality, community education, community connectivity and the survey takers’ future plans and background information. Approximately, 1,672 people already have competed the survey found at: http://www.whinsmartregion.org/.
Results from the survey will be one factor in helping to determine how funds WHIN received from a $38.9 million Lilly Endowment Inc. grant will be spent to improve the quality of place and quality of life in the Wabash Heartland region.
WHIN serves 10 counties in North Central Indiana to develop the region into the global epicenter for digital agriculture (engaging agriculture producers and businesses in the development of agriculture IoT testbeds, career-ready certificates and digital-readiness training) and next-generation manufacturing (real-time analytics of manufacturing systems, workforce education and manufacturing IoT testbeds) empowered by Internet of Things (anything connected to the Internet, particularly Internet-enabled sensors of all types). In addition, the organization’s regional cultivation initiative is designed to increase the education, vitality and connectivity of the Wabash Heartland region.
