Whitestown Fire Department Chief Josh Westrich has been deployed with the Indiana USAR Task Force #1 to assist in the response to Tropical Storm Helene.
The Indiana Task Force 1 was activated by the Federal Emergency Management Agency yesterday, Sept. 24 to respond as a Type 1, 80-person Search and Rescue Team. The task force was deployed to Florida in support of Region 4 ahead of tropical storm Helene, which is expected to become a tropical cyclone this week according to the task force.
“We wish Chief Westrich safe travels and thank him for his service,” the Town released.
