The Whitestown Wastewater Treatment Team was announced as the third-place finishers during the Indiana Water Environment Association Wastewater Challenge this year.

The Wastewater Challenge is described as a day of hands-on events designed to test and stretch the participants’ knowledge of wastewater, including challenges designed by the association’s laboratory, operations and maintenance, residuals and resource recovery, collection systems, pretreatment and safety committees.

The competitive teams rely on their knowledge, experience and diverse members to vie for the high school to take them to the WEFTEC water quality event in New Orleans extending from Oct. 5 through Oct. 9.

The Whitestown team placed highly during the Indiana contest with a third-place overall winner finish in Greenfield.

“Awesome job Erica, Dallas, Danny and Daniel,” the town released.
